Breitling has had a busy 2015, introducing — among other products — an all-new aviation-inspired collection; the vintage-styled Transocean Chronograph 1915; and the Galactic Unitime model with an all-new in-house movement. As it does most years, the brand also added to its automotive-influenced Breitling Bentley collection. This week’s Watch to Watch, the new Breitling for Bentley B06 S, is a more compact version of its predecessor, equipped with Breitling’s “30-second chronograph” system.The original Breitling for Bentley B06 had a massive 49-mm case; the new “S” version has been stripped down to a more modest 44 mm in diameter — still on the large side but possibly a more elegant fit for many wrists. All the collection’s Bentley design cues are present: a knurled pattern, echoing the look of Bentley cars’ radiator grills, is engraved into the bezel and also stamped as a background motif on the dials. The watch also features Breitling Bentley Replica“variable tachymeter” scale, operated by the rotating bezel, which serves to calculate average speeds whatever the time elapsed, the distance covered or the speed reached.
Like the Bentley automobiles that it emulates, the appeal of the B06 S lies not just in its chassis but in its engine. The watch’s automatic movement, Breitling Calibre B06, is developed and produced entirely in the Cheap Breitling Replica Chronométrie workshops in Switzerland, and has been officially chronometer-certified by Swiss testing agency COSC. It is outfitted with a “30-second chronograph” system that Breitling patented in 1926, in which a central hand sweeps around the dial in half a minute, ensuring extremely precise 1/8-second readings of elapsed times.
